Science Studies

It's still so amazing to watch students experience science first-hand. Just this week, we saw our seeds sprout without soil and then planted them in the soil. Wow! What a difference the dirt made!

Then our white carnations and regular celery turned colors overnight!

Kids with Kites

We tried our hands with homemade kites, and much to my surprise, they were a huge success!

Relay for Life

Relay for Life has been close to my heart for almost 18 years. My mom is a cancer survivor for that long! As a freshman in college we got the devastating news that no family ever wants to hear. But luckily for us, cancer has been defeated for that long!

MBES also has a close connection to cancer as we have seen our Henry face the challenge of osteosarcoma head on. What a thrill it was to see him leaping around the track for the survivor lap!

Away We Go!

We had the best time at Washington Farms picking strawberries! (Oh, and jumping on the pillow and petting the animals and playing!)

ABC

Airplanes, Bubbles, and Crazy Hair!

Our ABC Countdown has begun.

City Arrays

Can multiplication be crafty? Of course! While studying arrays, we made nighttime city skylines. Can you find the arrays?

Second Grade Shops

To enhance our Economics unit, we created Second Grade Shops. Each shop was complete with a business plan and a register receipt. Never have the students asked when Social Studies starts. To say they were excited about their business opportunities is an understatement!
