Cranberry Catapults

After learning all about cranberries, we tested them out a bit.  Do they sink or float?  Can we make them dance?  How far can we catapult them?

We took a trip to the middle school next door to check out their greenhouse.

We constructed a catcher that looked much like a web out of yarn, string, dental floss and pipe cleaners.  Look at all the creatures we caught!

Roller Coasters

When you study forces and motion, you get to build your own roller coaster!  The challenge was for them to construct a coaster with a loop.  To be declared functioning, the marble on their coaster had to stay on the track.  Several groups constructed successful coasters!  Way to go coaster teams!
