Soda and Pop Rocks

What happens when you mix a liquid that has gas in it (root beer) and a solid that also has gas (Pop Rocks)? Well, let's just say the gas doubles! We trapped our gas inside these balloons.

Stop, Drop, and Roll

The fire department did not disappoint with their fire safety puppet show. Thanks for helping us know about fire safety!

Just playing a little game of making a ten! Check baby. Check baby. 1,2,3,4!

Bookfair

You would have thought I was taking them to a toy store! The excitement could not be contained. When we got back, they begged to Read to Self! Their purchases even went out to recess with them. ❤️

PJs, a Movie, and Popsicles

The class pooled their Malcom Money to purchase a pajama day and a movie. We combined the two and had a fun Friday. They also earned an "amazing" treat for class compliments of a Popsicle. Learning and growing together can be so much fun!

Properties of Liquids

Did you know liquids don't always just mix together? We mixed six different liquids. To our surprise, they separated out into a rainbow of liquids. Density is the property that lets liquids do this. Honey and syrup had the most density and settled to the bottom. Dish soap and water were in the middle with oil and alcohol on top.

Dictionary Dig

Do you know what ruthless means? How about the meaning of a patriot? What about a cockpit?

We are expanding our vocabulary!

Dot Day

How will you make your mark in our classroom? How will you make your mark on our school? How will you make your mark in our country? How will you make your mark in our world?

What's the Matter?

Science has been so exciting this week. Our matter study led us on a Matter Hunt
and showed us how the molecules of solids, liquids, and gases are arranged.

The Hero Returns

We are so happy to have our Hero back at school! Welcome back, Henry!

Strawberry Science

We went to the science lab this week and extracted DNA from strawberries. It is a squishy, smelly, and snotty process!
