Soda and Pop Rocks
What happens when you mix a liquid that has gas in it (root beer) and a solid that also has gas (Pop Rocks)? Well, let's just say the gas doubles! We trapped our gas inside these balloons.

Bookfair
You would have thought I was taking them to a toy store! The excitement could not be contained. When we got back, they begged to Read to Self! Their purchases even went out to recess with them. ❤️

PJs, a Movie, and Popsicles
The class pooled their Malcom Money to purchase a pajama day and a movie. We combined the two and had a fun Friday. They also earned an "amazing" treat for class compliments of a Popsicle. Learning and growing together can be so much fun!
Properties of Liquids
Did you know liquids don't always just mix together? We mixed six different liquids. To our surprise, they separated out into a rainbow of liquids. Density is the property that lets liquids do this. Honey and syrup had the most density and settled to the bottom. Dish soap and water were in the middle with oil and alcohol on top.

Strawberry Science
We went to the science lab this week and extracted DNA from strawberries. It is a squishy, smelly, and snotty process!
