PJs, a Movie, and Popsicles
The class pooled their Malcom Money to purchase a pajama day and a movie. We combined the two and had a fun Friday. They also earned an "amazing" treat for class compliments of a Popsicle. Learning and growing together can be so much fun!
1/2 Way
We celebrated the season and our halfway mark of second grade. Love our MBES traditions. Love these kids who are growing and maturing at a rapid rate!
Although I won't be with them for the next two weeks, they won't be far from my thoughts. ❤️

'Tis the Season
Each day in December we have had a guest reader right after lunch. We have enjoyed some of the best stories! We even had Mrs. Stancil read one to us!

Cranberry Experiments
Did you know that cranberries can dance? We got to see how they are harvested in a flooded bog. We also tried out our engineering skills and catapulted them in our courtyard. The cranberry sauce will never be the same!
Thankful
Our School hosts a feast each Thanksgiving. The amount of family involvement was amazing! It was so nice to share a meal with our loved ones.
Moon Pie
Several students kept up with the phases of the moon each night for an entire month. What was their reward? A Moon Pie, of course!

Sincerely, Native American Child

Imagine you are a Creek or Cherokee child. Write a diary or journal entry describing your life. What kinds of activities do you do? What kinds of chores do you have? What are your favorite kinds of games? If you are on the Trail of Tears, what is it like?
Take us back in time.

Candy Corn Catastrophe
When reflecting on our project one student put it all in perspective when she said, "We made a mess!"

Spooky Science with Dry Ice
This week we have been writing with science. We also go to think about how dry ice works. Did you know that it can make huge bubbles, blow up balloons, and scream?

Creative Inspiration
We were inspired this week by author Scott Savage to make a difference in the world. If we can think it, we can do it!
We loved hearing about his books too!
Thank you, Mr. Savage!
United Way, Dilly Bars, and Cow Kisses
We did it! Second grade raised the most money for United Way and got to enjoy Dilly Bara and a front row seat to see Mrs. Stancil kiss a cow. Lou Lou was a good sport but after kiss number three, she had had enough.
Thanks for being such a good sport, Mrs. Stancil! 💋

Special Guest
We had a special guest in our classroom one morning this week. We were star struck!
He made a deal that we couldn't refuse- we could sign his new cast for a small fee of 3 Malcom dollars. They were lined up for a chance to enourage our school's hero.
